Ryan Jor El Coleman

Author, Speaker and Host, Ryan Jor El, understands life is all about paying it forward. After spending nearly twenty years in the fashion industry, family, faith and fatherhood now sit at the top of his priority list.

Ryan’s passion, personality and pursuit of purpose have opened many doors and arenas which transitioned this entrepreneur into philanthropy through the creation of Black Fathers Rock; a non-profit organization that seeks to change the narrative and dispel the notion that all black fathers are absent.

The UNC Charlotte Top 10 Under 10 recipient and 2019 Southpark Magazine’s “It List” honoree, makes it his prerogative to utilize his platform to bring about change in the community. When he’s not volunteering, or being super dad to his two children, Peyton Baroness and Grayson Jeremiah, he is either: mentoring youth through his fraternity Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc., bringing you the news as a WCCB News Rising contributor and weekend “Trending” Co-Host, or having courageous conversations via “Fatherhood Focus,” a weekly online dialogue with fathers of various backgrounds.

In 2015, Ryan was deemed one of the 50 Most Influential People in the city of Charlotte and in 2019, was named Entrepreneur of the Year by the Charlotte (NC) Alumni Chapter of Kappa Alpha Psi Fraternity, Inc. Most recently, he was nominated in two categories for the inaugural Carolina Fashion Awards for Outstanding Community Outreach for Black Fathers Rock! and Fashion Icon of the Year, opposite former Carolina Panther, Cam Newton.

Ryan Jor El lives by the motto, “Good clothes open all doors,” and advises everyone, “It doesn’t have to be perfect, it just has to be out!”
